Preparing For Your Session
Boudoir photo shoots shouldn't be stressful! They should be comfortable, relaxing, and a fun way to express your inner, and outer beauty. The day before your session, be sure to get plenty of sleep so you look well-rested in your photos and drink plenty of water to give your skin that extra glow. Treat yourself to a new hair-style and/or a mani/pedi so you can look and feel your best on the day of your session.
What to Expect During the Session
Upon arriving to our studio, Melissa will look at your collection of outfits and guide you through selecting items that work best together. She'll talk with you throughout the session to make you feel comfortable, like you're posing in front of a friend rather than a photographer. She'll guide you through the poses and often do them with you so you never have to feel awkward or uncertain. After a few minutes you'll begin to feel more relaxed and at ease.
What to Bring
This photo shoot is all about you! We love to see girls incorporate meaningful items in their photos that can include wedding and engagement rings, bridal garter, jewelry from a family member, or even a special sweater of your significant other.
Suggested items include: a pair of stockings or thigh-highs, at least one pair of heels, corsets, colorful lingerie, a matching set of bra and panties, and bold pieces of jewelry. You may also want to bring a bridal veil, sports jersey, or a button-down shirt. Everyday clothing can be cute too! Oversized sweaters, pencil skirts, and tank tops can make for great outfit choices as well. We encourage you to bring music of your choice or a close friend to help create an enjoyable and relaxing environment.
Make-up application should be bolder than normal, but not overly dramatic. Focus on the eyes and lips and avoid thick concealers and self-tanning lotions. Fake eyelashes are also great!
The most important item in your bag should be confidence! Flash that beautiful smile and let us do the rest!
